Melania Moctezuma ChacÓn, yoga instructor
Mel has been studying and practicing yoga since 2000 and was certified as a yoga instructor in 2010. Her teaching is based mostly on Hatha Yoga, holding longer postures and becoming aware of breath, body sensations, and emotions. She encourages students to let the body guide the practice, helping participants find through bodily experience the door to self-awareness and enjoyment of the present.
Jorge chaudon aceves, Drumming and sports
Jorge is a musical therapist who employs percussion instruments and the didgeridoo. He focuses on using sound as a tool for exploring rhythm and inducing concentration and various emotional states. Jorge has played the drums in local rock bands and teaches both music and physical education at the Ecomundi School near Malinalco. He engages his students with his playful humor and enthusiasm.
Natalia urrutia, art instructor
Natalia is a visual artist as well as a musical composer and producer who has a degree in graphic design from La Cambre School of Visual Arts in Brussels, Belgium. Her classes, while centered on visual artwork of different kinds, also incorporate varied and clever elements around sounds, music, collaborative storytelling, and theater. She likes to launch different interpretive experiments and then allow each person’s approach to develop organically and with minimal interference.
Mandy Lee-Birkholtz, HORSES AND JANZU
Mandy was born in South Africa and grew up in a rural small town, always in contact with animals, farming, trading, art and sport. She is a lover of animals, particularly the horses she cares for with empathy and a keen eye. She studied body therapy and has been doing various types of body work since 1993, including the aquatic therapy Janzu that she shares at Inscape. Mandy traveled the world for many years including on various sailboats – crossing the Atlantic Ocean, racing in the Caribbean and cruising with family and friends. In her free time she also loves creating art in various forms.
ALESSANDRO MENDOZA, QI GONG FACILITATOR
He is a Mexican industrial designer, permaculturist, and QiGong instructor with over eight years of experience in advanced practices and certifications in ZhiNeng QiGong. He has completed training with renowned international masters such as Wei Qifeng and Zhen Qingchuan in methods like Peng Qi Guan Ding Fa, Xing Shen Zhuang, and Wu Yuan Zhuang, as well as specialized courses in health and regeneration. Alessandro integrates permaculture and biodynamic agriculture with QiGong practice, creating a holistic approach that connects consciousness, spirituality, and earth stewardship to enrich life and promote harmony between the body and nature.
OSCAR PLENS, SPACES AND JANZU
Oscar graduated from the University of Barcelona and later came to Mexico to pursue a postgraduate degree in Cognitive-Symbolic Anthropology. His group "Spaces" focuses on the search for deeper self-knowledge and honed intentionality. To achieve this goal, psychosomatic tools, rituals and magic, emotional alchemy, “shadow work” and bold introspection are used. With that same intention, through the practice of water therapy (janzu), hi guides participants through a series of psycho-emotional experiences to generate internal references that can be use day by day to face life's challenges.
MARIEL HENRY, CONNECTIVE MUSIC
Music and arts educator for over 25 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the National Institute of Fine Arts (2001-2005). She trained in Conducting at Música do Círculo, Brazil, in 2024, and studied Body Music with Barbatuques in 2021. She has performed in 13 countries across 4 continents, sharing her music and the playful experience of "Música Conectiva" with diverse groups and communities. Her artistic work focuses on fostering sensitivity and human connection.
EVA GONZÁLEZ, 5 RhYTHMS
Eva is a certified teacher of the 5rhythms Moving Meditation of Gabrielle Roth. She got her certification in 2016 after 12 years of deep immersion in the practice, studying around the world with many different teachers. Eva ascertains that her path is, above all, a spiritual voyage where the Arts, Healing and Movement are ever present, interlaced as woven thread to create tools of Union, allowing us to get closer to our true selves and how we wish to live.
ximena camou, spaces and somatics
Ximena is a certified Somatic Movement Educator, artist, facilitator, cultural manager, and community organizer. She specializes in bringing transformative capacity to social justice movements and helping to heal the impacts of trauma and oppression. In addition to leading programs and trainings for leaders, teachers, and youth, she provides individual and group support. She collaborates with social and environmental change organizations, artistic collectives, schools, and holistic wellness centers, utilizing transformative justice approaches.
